We made it through another week of vacation with the whole family! Everyone made it! We rented a house at Emerald Isle again this year because we love the beach there so much. This house fit us a very well and had lots of living space.
We had 16 of us this year with 8 adults and 8 grandchildren. It could be a little loud some times and it was very busy to say the least. As a family, we really try to have fun together. I would guess we were together all the time except for the golf cart rides. You can’t fit 16 on one golf cart so we had to take turns. But when I say together, I mean together! Breakfast, dinner, beach time, nights, always!
Everyone had everyone’s children all the time. We managed to have hot breakfast everyday and hot dinner. For lunches, everyone was on their on. And, thank God for paper plates! I am not a fan of paper plates but I used them some too. It saved everyone time to not have dishes to do.
The beach was our favorite place to be, even through naps. Our son, Michael spent a lot of time in the shade with the kids.
The babies are so cute playing on the beach. Everything is new to them and the older kids love to play with the little ones. And, of course, Umpa is right in there too!
Digging was a required skill to make puddle pools for the babies so the waves dont knock them down. At some point, I am sure everyone dug a hole.
Our annual “Beach Fairy” left presents for each kid on the steps every night. The beach fairy loves Amazon, Five Below and the Dollar Store.
Our drink tasting was extremely fun this year with the kids. Some of the drinks names were so bad sounding that I couldn’t speak the words from laughing so much.
Our 3 year old Ady thought the drink tasting was a blast! I buy these drinks at the International Market. They are gross! How it works is, I pour drink into everyones cups, we then do cheers and drink up. Most of the drink ends up in the bowl that is in the middle of the table with tons of laughter and smiles!
To say the least, we all had a blast!
I plan family vacations and do so much work so that our children and grandchildren will have great memories of family times. In our world today so many family are distant due to miles and heart ache. We are trying to lead a family that makes a difference in life and puts family first again.
Our prayer is that you too can make family memories and raise world changers!
